About Triangle Parachute

Triangle Parachute was founded in 1983 as a division of Lockley Manufacturing Co. In 1996 Triangle Parachute became a privately owned company. The plant specializes in the fabrication and design of parachutes, retardation systems, and retardation system components. Other items requiring high-quality, industrial sewing are also manufactured at this site.

Customers have included the Army, Navy, and Air Force along with large corporations and small commercial businesses. These clients have provided a multiplicity of projects:

  • The development of a unique process and the stringent quality controls for fabricating large, high-strength, net-like structures, that when loaded with explosive cords, form the warhead in the Navy's Distributed Explosive Technology (DET) Surf-Zone Mine Countermeasures System. Triangle Parachute has manufactured over eight acres of net or exoskeleton for this program.

  • The production engineering of components for the Navy's Shallow Water Assault Breaching System (SABRE) and the fabrication of parachute packs and strength members for TECHEVAL / OPEVAL.

  • Over 25,000 high-speed, low altitude retardation systems have been fabricated by Triangle Parachute since it was founded, which provide aerodynamic deceleration for most of the Navy's Quickstrike Family of Aircraft Delivered Mines.

Triangle Parachute has maintained a continuity of experienced leadership since it was founded. This continuity enhances our quality control philosophy and our production capability. This aspect of our management has provided Triangle Parachute with possibly the most experienced leadership in the combined areas of plant management, production management, and quality assurance of any parachute plant in the United States.
